The Schiff base BSDAAD, was synthesized by the condensation of 2, 4-dihydroxy-5- acetylacetophenone dihydrazone (DAAD) and salicylaldehyde, and characterized by MS, IR, and UV-Vis spectroscopic techniques. The ligand behaves as symmetric, tetrabasic bis-tetradentate system through ONNO donor sequence. The coordination results in a distorted (elongation) octahedral geometry.
