An in vitro antimnlarial test of the crude extract gave an IC 50 of 50 ug ml- 1. Artemotin and a sesquiterpene lactone were isolated from the aerial parts of the plant , 1rtemetin was identified by its melting point -> nd spectral data MS , IR , NMR and 13C-NMR. IR , ^HNME , 13C-NMR and chemical studies vifiro carried out to elucidate the structure of the* sesquiterpene. Vulgarin , a Compound that was previously isolated from the same plant was analyzed 1 13 by two dimensional H and C- NMR including COLOG specs troscopic techniques.enArtemisia rehanSome Chemical Constituents of Artemisia HeranThesis
