Abstract: The major purpose of the study was to investigate the status of material resources management practices, to asses some educational problems related with the management of material resources and to make recommendations for improvement. The Study based its idea on the non-existence of available guidelines, documents, rules and regulations, the existence of unqualified and inadequate personnel, poor participation of the school society in material resources management and ineffective practice of material resources management in terms of planning, procurement and storage, distribution, utilization, inventory control and rnaintenance of materials, scrap and surplus disposal. Based on these hypotheses, it was looked forward to asses the educational problems related with the management of material resources and to suggest some solutions to the problems under study. The method used to conduct this research was the descriptive survey in order to get current information form the respondent. The schools and teachers were selected by using random samplings technique and for Administrative staff members was the availability sarnpling technique. Questionnaires were administered to collect data from teachers and administrative staff members. The data was collected from 148 teachers and 56 administrative staff members. Since the study was focused on the current practice of material resource management in secondary schools, the researcher preferred to undertake descriptive survey method. By doing so, points of the investigations regarding the management of material resources are of helpful to determine lessons that can be drawn and shared from the findings.
