Abstract: The purpose of this study is to show the historical, philological, theological and religious situations of the saint’s epoch through his Gädl, Gädlä Bärtälomewos.AbunäBärtälomewos was one of the disciples of St.Täklä Haymanot from Ṣäṣärä. He contributed a lot in the evangelical activities and founded the monastery of DäbräZämäda. Through his devotion and generosity, he has flourished ethical generations. According to the corroboration of evidences, the Gädl was composed in the last stage of the 16th century. The researcher has tried to translate the Gädl (from Gǝʾǝz to English) and investigated the historical, philological and linguistic aspects that intern succinctly treated the respective problems in the hope that it will help for the historical and cultural study of the country.
