Abstract: The main purpose of the research was to undertake a systematic investigation of the materials and supplies management practices and its impact on the quality control, quality standard, and specification, resource availability, inventory of materials, problems of purchasing, distribution, utilization, handling of educational materials, maintenance, store management, codification, buy or make, budget and the overall management practices of the educational materials and supplies. The research methodology employed was descriptive survey. The respondents for this study were: deans and vice deans, department heads, section heads, trainers, trainees, purchasers, main store keepers and tool technicians of Entoto TVET College, General Winget TVET College and Tegbare-ed TVET College in Addis Ababa. Questionnaires and interview were used to collect the necessary information and results obtained were analyzed using percentage. The three colleges were selected by simple random sampling techniques. The statistical analysis of this study is percentage. Among the findings, the clarity and simplicity of effective planning of educational materials is poor. Also planning, selection and handling of educational materials is very poor. The finding reveals that the educational materials are insufficient. Some educational materials are frequently damaged because of lack of proper handling and lack of utilizing skills of trainees. Educational materials are not purchased on time. Distribution of educational materials is not fair. The maintenance of educational materials is not performed well. Recommendations for effective educational materials and supplies include that to motivate and encourage trainers in planning, selection and handling of EM’s. Awareness should be given to all concerned bodies how to handle and prevent EM’s and supplies form damage to train personnel’s in maintenance of materials
