Abstract: The structure of covert categories of Gamo clauses is the subject of this paper. Covert categories are syntactically active NPs that have no overt morphological manifestation. They, however, can be interpreted by associating them with overt agreement features. Some languages allow any NP element left unexpressed phonetically in certain syntactic positions. The language allows such null syntactic elements, of which pro is one, to occur in various clauses. In the course of the discussion, then, the paper presents the detailed description of the pro covert categories in simple, complement, relative and participial clauses of the language.
